We are pleased to announce that work is now underway on the Great Moor New Space project in Stockport. Mahoney Contracts are the main contractor for the delivery of a new 3,000 sq. ft Coop Food store.
The project officially began in April 2025 and is scheduled to run for 29 weeks, with completion and launch expected in October 2025.
The existing store is to be demolished with additional space being created by the acquisition of the next-door commercial unit. A new portal frame building with traditional roof and brickwork will be constructed utilizing new technology and sustainable products.
The Great Moor scheme has involved a significant amount of planning and coordination to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery. We have worked closely with the Co-op property team and other key stakeholders to prepare for this exciting new build, and it’s been a real team effort to get to this point.
Now that construction has commenced, our focus turns to delivering the highest quality building possible, with safety, sustainability, and workmanship at the heart of everything we do.
