As part of the Coop Planned Asset Renewal programme, Mahoney Contracts were appointed to undertake an overhaul of the existing roof covering, which had come to the end of its life and was noticeably leaking onto the sales floor. The works included the installation of the Sika Decothane Ultra system, providing a 20 year guarantee.
In addition to the roof works, Mahoney Contracts were appointed as Principal Contractor to upgrade the stores Heating & Ventilation system. As part of these works the existing redundant gas heating system was decommissioned and removed, prior to installation of a new Air Conditioning and Ventilation system to the sales floor, with Electric heating installed to the Back of House. To minimise disruption to the store and maintain trading, all works to the HVAC system were programmed and undertaken on nightworks.
