Mahoney Contracts undertook the full refurbishment of the 4750ft2 Coop Funeralcare branch in East Kilbride. The scope of works included;
- Full strip out of the existing Funeral Home.
- Readjustment of the oversized garage to form a new fit for purpose increased capacity Cold Room facility.
- Improvement of staff facilities.
- Provision of air conditioning.
- New suspended ceilings, floor coverings and decorations to Coop Model Specification.
- Demolition and making good of a redundant outbuilding.
- Filling and decommissioning of a subsurface fuel tank.
- Design and installation of lighting, fire alarm and ventilation systems.
- Full external decoration alongside soft landscaping to improve the appearance of the property.
- Installation of new illuminated signage.
The full refit was completed in just 6 weeks, however by implementing a phased approach Mahoney’s were able to keep a section of the Funeral Home open for 4 weeks of the programme, resulting in only a 2 week closure period.
